Puppy Grooming:

  • We recommend introducing puppies early to grooming with basic sessions for acclimation.

Long-Coated Pets:

We understand the unique needs of long-coated pets and their grooming requirements:

  • Regular Maintenance: Keeping long-coated pets on a grooming schedule (typically every 6-8 weeks) is essential to prevent discomfort and matting.
  • Humanity Over Vanity: We prioritize your pet’s well-being over cosmetic appearance. Attempting to brush out severely matted fur can cause skin irritation and damage, potentially leading to more frequent matting in the future. If severe matting is present, we will shave the affected area. Our groomers will contact you prior to any unrequested shaving.
  • Proper Grooming Tools: Owners often use brushes that only reach the top coat, unaware that mats form at the base. For at-home maintenance, we recommend using a comb to ensure thorough grooming without causing discomfort. Our groomers are always happy to give at-home care recommendations.

By maintaining a regular grooming schedule and using the right tools, you can ensure your long-coated pet remains healthy and comfortable between visits.

Vaccination Requirements:

  • Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper vaccinations are required, with exceptions for puppies and kittens under 16 weeks.
  • Sick, unvaccinated, or injured pets must see a DVM before scheduling a grooming appointment.

Flea and Tick Prevention:

  • We highly recommend your pet be current on flea and tick preventative prior to grooming.
  • A 24-hour lasting flea treatment will be administered if fleas are found during grooming. This will be an additional fee.
